THE FLIGHTS
Step into the cockpit of history with not one, but two legendary aircraft—the Fairchild PT-19 and President Eisenhower’s L-26B Aero Commander, “Ike’s Bird.”
The PT-19 was the iconic primary trainer of World War II, giving thousands of young aviators their very first taste of military flight before they went on to fly fighters and bombers in combat. Its open canopy, blue-and-yellow wartime paint, and roaring engine make it a true time machine back to the 1940s.
“Ike’s Bird,” the L-26B Aero Commander, holds the rare distinction of being the smallest airplane ever to carry the title “Air Force One.” In the 1950s, it ferried President Eisenhower on short trips, a living symbol of American leadership and ingenuity.
Thanks to a newly founded partnership between Love Surrounds You and the Commemorative Air Force Tampa Bay Wing, you now have the chance to do more than admire these incredible airplanes—you could actually fly in one. For just $25 a ticket, you’ll be entered for the opportunity of a lifetime.
Only 24 winners will be drawn, and each will be assigned to either the PT-19 or “Ike’s Bird.” No matter which seat you take, your ride will be a once-in-a-lifetime journey into history.
