Photo, Video, and Drone Support roles document the Ride Out of the Darkness® experience and help share its impact with the broader community. These roles capture key moments throughout the event—from registration and staging to the escorted ride and rally—supporting storytelling, future promotion, and mission awareness. Most roles are event-day focused, with light coordination beforehand to confirm assignments and logistics.

  • ROLE TYPE
    Photo / Video / Drone Support Role — Event Day Assignment

    ROLE PURPOSE
    Captures aerial footage of arrival, staging, and pre-ride energy at the starting location.

    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
    • Operates drone in compliance with FAA and local regulations
    • Captures aerial shots of staging, crowd energy, and preparation
    • Coordinates positioning with Route & Safety leadership
    • Follows approved flight zones and timelines

    TIME COMMITMENT
    • Event day only
    • Brief pre-event coordination call required

    SUPPORT & STRUCTURE
    • Reports to Photo / Video / Drone Director
    • Works closely with Safety and Operations teams

    Media Operations Support Role

    ROLE PURPOSE
    Ensures all photo and video content is collected, organized, and delivered properly after the event.

    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
    • Collects memory cards or files from media team
    • Uploads content to shared Dropbox or drive
    • Ensures files are clearly labeled and organized
    • Supports post-event media handoff

    • Event day + light post-event work
