MERCH & T-SHIRT SUPPORT ROLES

These roles support the design, preparation, sales, and fulfillment of Ride Out of the Darkness® and Love Surrounds You™ merchandise. This team ensures event apparel and merch are professionally designed, properly organized, accurately sold, and fulfilled with care. Roles in this category range from design and pre-event preparation to event-day sales and post-event fulfillment. Time commitment varies by role and is listed below.

  • ROLE TYPE
    Merch & T-Shirt Support Role — Project-Based Assignment

    ROLE PURPOSE
    Designs the official Ride Out of the Darkness® event-day T-shirt logo, ensuring it aligns with Love Surrounds You™ brand standards and receives National approval before production.

    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
    • Designs the official event-day logo for merchandise
    • Follows Love Surrounds You™ branding and design guidelines
    • Submits designs for National review and approval
    • Makes revisions as requested to meet approval standards
    • Delivers final, print-ready files by required deadlines

    TIME COMMITMENT
    • Project-based
    • Design period typically completed several months before event

    SUPPORT & STRUCTURE
    • Reports to Merch & T-Shirt Director
    • Works with National Leadership for approval
    • Production handled separately

  • ROLE TYPE
    Merch & T-Shirt Support Role — Short-Term Assignment

    ROLE PURPOSE
    Prepares event T-shirts for sale by organizing, labeling, and staging inventory approximately two weeks before the event.

    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
    • Sorts shirts by size and design
    • Labels and organizes inventory for sales teams
    • Prepares shirts for efficient event-day distribution
    • Works as a team under the Merch & T-Shirt Director

    TIME COMMITMENT
    • Short-term commitment
    • One or more work sessions approximately 2 weeks prior to event

    SUPPORT & STRUCTURE
    • Reports to Merch & T-Shirt Director
    • Clear instructions and workspace provided

  • ROLE TYPE
    Merch & T-Shirt Support Role — Event Day Assignment

    ROLE PURPOSE
    Sells T-shirts and merchandise at the starting location during morning registration and staging.

    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
    • Sells event merchandise to participants
    • Assists with sizing and basic questions
    • Handles transactions under coordinator guidance
    • Maintains a clean and organized sales area

    TIME COMMITMENT
    • Event day — morning shift

    ROLE PURPOSE
    Sells T-shirts and merchandise at the rally location, supporting fundraising and attendee engagement.

    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
    • Sells merchandise throughout rally hours

    • Assists attendees with purchases
    • Follows money-handling procedures

    SUPPORT & STRUCTURE

  • ROLE TYPE
    Merch & T-Shirt Support Role — 10–12 Month Assignment

    ROLE PURPOSE
    Manages post-event and ongoing shipment of T-shirts and merchandise to participants who require mailing.

    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
    • Coordinates packing and shipping of merchandise
    • Ensures orders are accurate and timely
    • Tracks shipments and addresses issues as needed
    • Works with Merch and Finance teams on fulfillment records

    TIME COMMITMENT
    • 10–12 month commitment
    • Average 2–4 hours per month
    • Increased activity following the event

    • Reports to Merch & T-Shirt Director
    • Supported by order lists and shipping guidelines
